Antique and Old Furniture Repair

Have an antique or old piece (note: all antiques are old, but not all old things are antiques) of furniture that has broken or just become unstable? 

 

We may be able to help. We spend a lot of time at David King Handmade doing repairs to old and antique furniture.  If you have something in need of repair, send up a few pictures of the piece and some close-up pictures of the broken area.  We will evaluate it and let you know if we can repair it and give you a cost estimate.

If the item is a true antique, we will make every effort not to alter it in a way that devalues it.  For example, if the item was made without metal fasteners (nails, screws, etc.) we will do everything possible to repair it without metal fasteners so that its antique integrity is maintained.  If we find that we just can’t repair it without some modern materials, we will consult with you first to explain the situation and get your permission.
